Client: Buyer Ambassadors (Sydney, property buyer’s agency)
Engagement: Replaced previous IT supplier, managed IT services, identity & security clean-up, cloud desktop rollout
Scope highlights: Microsoft 365 admin remediation, MFA, password management, cloud desktop migration
Outcome: A property advisory team running on a cleaner, more secure stack, and an owner who is far more comfortable and confident in their IT than they used to be.
The starting point
Buyer Ambassadors is a Sydney property buyer’s agency. The team is fast-moving and split across the office, home setups and on-the-road meetings with clients. When we first spoke, the business was being supported by another IT provider, and it wasn’t working. Things would break and stay broken. Security risks went unflagged. Basic admin questions didn’t get clear answers. The owner had stopped trusting that the technology behind the business was actually being looked after.
When we opened the lid on the Microsoft 365 environment, the reason was easy to see. A variety of misconfigurations sat under the surface, the kind of small, accumulated decisions that quietly add up to real risk. None of them were on fire. None of them had been raised by the previous provider. We partnered with the business to work through them in an order that matched how the team actually operates, rather than disrupting the day to score easy points.
What we changed
Static Computers took over from the previous IT supplier and got the foundations into shape.
Administrative access was tidied up and given its own protected identity. Microsoft 365 licensing was audited and right-sized, so each user is on the plan that matches the security capability they need (and the business stops paying for features no one uses). Multi-factor authentication was enforced across the team, and a managed password vault was rolled out so credentials are no longer pasted into chat threads.
For one team member who needed a more secure, cloud-first work environment, we rolled out a cloud desktop. Files now live in the cloud by default, the apps and services she uses day-to-day are configured centrally, and her local device became a clean, low-risk access point rather than a place where business data accumulates.
What’s different now
The technical changes are one thing. The bigger change is how the owner feels about their IT. There’s no longer a quiet, nagging worry that the foundations might be wrong. Questions get answered. Risks get flagged before they become problems. When something needs attention, there’s one number to ring and a clear answer back. That confidence in the IT environment is what frees up the business owner to actually focus on running the business.
Most businesses at this stage don’t need an enterprise security overhaul. They need someone to sit with them, look at what they actually do, and tighten the right things. The work at Buyer Ambassadors was a series of small, deliberate decisions: who needs admin rights, where data lives, who has access to which folder, how staff log in. None of those decisions are exciting on their own. Together, they’re the difference between an IT environment that’s quietly leaking risk and one that’s quietly working.
“Steve is fantastic! I hired him on a consistent basis to look after the IT needs of my company and he has been nothing but wonderful to work with. He picks up every call, is always available to kick into gear when we need him and taught me so much already about all things ‘IT’. Highly recommend if you are looking for a reliable IT service!”

Where things stand
The team is now on enforced MFA, password sharing is managed, the cloud desktop is in production and the local laptop has been cleaned up. Static Computers handles the ongoing managed IT support, with regular check-ins on what’s working and what to tighten next.
Working with Static Computers
Static Computers is a Sydney-based managed IT services partner. We work with organisations across a wide range of industries and sizes, focusing on the practical security and productivity work that quietly compounds over time. A lot of our new engagements start with the same conversation: the current IT provider isn’t cutting it, and the owner wants a partner they can actually trust.
If that sounds familiar, we’d welcome a conversation.
