Outcome: A family beef business that ran across two Microsoft 365 tenants, multiple resellers, and duplicated user accounts is now structured as a single, well-organised M365 environment, with one trucking business kept separate by design.
The starting point
CCBeef sits inside a family-run group that spans beef, farming, rural services and trucking. Like a lot of multi-entity family operations, the technology had grown one entity at a time. Each business had picked up its own Microsoft 365 licensing, often through different channels, some direct with Microsoft, some via a third-party reseller. Domains were scattered across registrars. User accounts were duplicated across tenants. The same person could have one mailbox in one tenant and a OneDrive in another.
That kind of setup quietly costs a family group three ways: in licence fees that don’t need to exist, in lost time when staff can’t find each other’s files, and in unmanaged identity risk, accounts that hang around long after the person has moved on.
The plan
Static Computers scoped a structured consolidation project to clean the whole environment up:
One main tenant for the family businesses. CCBeef and the connected entities consolidate into a single, well-structured Microsoft 365 tenant. Mail flow, file storage, identity and Teams all live in one place.
The trucking business kept separate. The trucking entity stays in its own tenant by design. It’s operationally distinct and may be sold separately in future, so it’s cleaner to keep its identity and data independent from day one.
Billing onto a single CSP relationship. Licensing moves into a single Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) relationship through Static Computers. The family group gets one place to manage licences across all entities, flexible monthly billing, and a real escalation path back to Microsoft when needed.
DNS consolidated and modernised. The group’s domains move to a modern DNS platform for centralised, better-secured management, including the email-authentication records (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) that keep messages out of recipients’ spam folders.
Identity, security and backup baseline. With consolidation done, the environment is brought up to a sensible baseline: MFA across users, conditional access in place, and a structured rollout plan for endpoint security, password management and cyber-security training.
A practical scope, not a transformation programme
The work is deliberately scoped to be done in a manageable sequence. Each phase has a clear owner, a clear cost and a clear deliverable. The family group also has supporting expertise from a CRM and automation partner working alongside Static, so the consolidation respects the operational tooling the business already runs on.
Along the way, the engagement has produced supporting written guidance the team can keep coming back to, practical reference material on how to make sensible technology decisions as the group grows, written in plain language rather than vendor jargon.
